Edinson Cavani’s unique bow and arrow celebration is finally explained by the Uruguayan
Edinson Cavani in one of his interview with the club has explained the reason behind his bow and arrow celebration, saying that it was inspired by the history of his Country and his daughter’s name.
“I’ve changed my celebration a few times now and again. But this latest one comes from when you start growing up and begin to learn and gain knowledge about things that date back from a long time ago,” Cavani said to Club’s website.

After scoring goals Cavani celebrates his goal in his own unique style. Cavani gets down on a knee mimicks taking out an arrow from his back and then fires it with the imaginary bow.
“It kind of comes from our population, our native Uruguayans. Because I think and feel that down through the various generations of my family, I have roots from back in those times.
“I got the idea of being able to do the celebration where I take out the arrow and fire it. So that’s a bit of the history behind it, which in turn explains the thinking behind my daughter’s name, India,” Cavani said.
Edinson Cavani’s time in Manchester United
Edinson Cavani joined the Red Devils last year in the 2020/21 campaign on a one year deal. He took on the no. 7 shirt in Manchester United and has remarkably shown his class as usual on the field.
After Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in 2009 he is only player to have donned the No 7 shirt and scored goals in double figure in the Premier League for Manchester United.
After Cristiano Ronaldo decided to make his come back to Manchester United, Edinson Cavani willingly gave up the No.7 shirt to the legend and will now be wearing his internation jersey number 21.
