EFL responds to allegations against Liverpools ‘False Covid Positive tests’

The EFL board had to cancel and postpone the first leg semi-final of the Carabao Cup clash between Arsenal and Liverpool due to a massive Covid outbreak at Anfield with a count of around 40 players and staff in total to have turned in positive results.

However, there has been a certain turn of events as Jurgen Klopp Liverpool boss has reported that the PCR test and the lateral flow tests taken by the players and staff before, turned out to be false positives which led to misunderstanding and confusion.

Jurgen Klopp in his interview right after their clash against Shrewsbury in FA Cup said, “We had last week a proper outbreak and it showed up that we had a lot of false positives but the rules are like they are, so all these players who are false positives couldn’t play.”
