One of the sides with a great squad depth, Spain are all set to fight their heart out for the most coveted Euro 2020 from 15th June. Ahead of the new edition, here is the EURO 2020 Spain Squad Preview.
Euro 2020 Spain Preview
Spain are still feeling the pain of loss against Italy in the knockout stages of Euro 2016. The team lost 2-0 to Antonio Conte’s men in the Round of 16. Spain had won 2008 and 2012 editions of Euro and were tipped to win this as well. However, the team lost and bowed out of the tournament.
Luis Enrique is all set to manage the team for the first team in an international tournament. Though he was touted to replace Julen Lopetuigi in the World Cup 2018, he was not selected as Enrique was the manager of Real Madrid. Enrique will look to carve his image out of in EURO 2020 with the Spain squad.

Key players for Spain
Spain have abundance of experience and talent in their line-up. Despite not having a single Real Madrid player, they have stacked up every department with equivalent and top-quality players. Luis Enrique has left the most capped Spanish international, Sergio Ramos from the squad. They have Gerard Moreno and Alvaro Morata at their disposal in the attack who were one of the bests in La Liga and Serie A respectively.
Though their midfield looks a bit light, they have Thiago Alcantara, Koke and Dani Olmo who were consistent throughout the 2020/21 campaign. Despite not having Xavi and Iniesta, Spain looks comfortable in the midfield with Dani Olmo and Pedri who are known to break the opposition lines. Though Thiago took time to settle at Anfield, he is important for the outfit to set the tempo. The likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Jordi Alba will be key for Spain’s aspirations in EURO 2020.

EURO 2020 Spain: Group Stage
Spain are paired up with the likes of Sweden, Slovakia and Poland in EURO 2020. Unless we witness a major shocking results, Spain are destined to reach the knockout stages. If Spain are able to win the group, they will face the third placed teams from either of Group A,B,C or D.
Spain will start their campaign in Seville on 14th June against Sweden. Spain will play all games at Seville and will play their Round of 16 at Glasgow if they win their group in Euro 2020.
Spain Chances at EURO 2020
Spain are one of the sides with a great depth in their line-up. Though the likes of David de Gea and Aymeric Laporte haven’t played in a while, few players a back to the national team setup after winning the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
Compared to other sides in the league, Spain has comparatively easier fixtures to play for. The team can go all the way to the semifinals as they have easier games at their disposal.
