The curtain-raiser of the EURO 2020 is all set to go down in Rome on Friday, involving two teams from Group A. After a delay of more than a year, the tournament will finally kick-off post Covid-19 and we cannot wait for the biggest footballing bonanza to start.

The Azzuris are back into the international scene after they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They qualified for the EURO 2020 with 3 games to spare in their qualification campaign and are back in form for the marquee event this year. Under Roberto Mancini, the Italians have lost just thrice in the last 26 matches and will be a force to reckon this summer. They definitely go into the first match of the tournament as the favourites.

Turkey enjoyed a fine qualifying campaign for the Euros, finishing behind France in Group H, losing just one of the ten games they played while letting in a mere three goals. It was followed by the disappointment of relegation in the UEFA Nations League, though, with the Crescent-Stars unable to get going in the tournament last year after playing out a series of draws, along with twin defeats to Hungary. They will look to make amends this year and will go into the EURO 2020 as one of the underdogs.
