Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo recently participated in an advertisement for a cryptocurrency platform Binance, in which he showcased his iconic ‘Siu’ celebration alongside avid fan and one of the world’s most attractive football stars, Ana Maria Markovic.
The 38-year-old ex-Real Madrid player motivated many young talents to play football, including Croatian women’s footballer Ana Maria Markovic, 24, known as the ‘World’s Most Beautiful Footballer.’ She has a large following on social media. Ronaldo became the brand ambassador for the Binance cryptocurrency platform in 2022. He and the Croatian player made a promotional video for the company. Before this, the Portuguese star appeared in various ads for the firm.
Markovic, who plays for Grasshoppers, lived her dream, sharing a behind-the-scenes video of an ad shoot with her idol, Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr. They recreated Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration, sharing a laughter-filled moment. The iconic celebration originated during Real Madrid’s match against Chelsea at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, USA, in 2013.
Ana Markovic expressed gratitude to the U.S.-based company for giving her the chance to feature alongside the legendary footballer. The commercial marked her first opportunity to meet her idol.
Cristiano Ronaldo remains associated with controversial cryptocurrency firm Binance
Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo was recently sued by a few American individuals for promoting the cryptocurrency exchange platform, Binance. They claimed that Ronaldo’s endorsement led them to invest in the platform, resulting in financial losses. Despite the legal action, Ronaldo maintained his affiliation with the company, which had admitted guilt to charges of money laundering and tax evasion.
The 38-year-old former United star had signed a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with the crypto exchange platform in June 2022. Following this, he appeared in commercials and ads for the company, which ultimately persuaded some individuals to invest in the firm.
After incurring financial losses, three U.S. citizens filed a lawsuit against the football star, accusing him of providing misleading information to fans and investors. Binance was already under a series of investigations regarding tax offenses and was later proven guilty of engaging in unlicensed transfers.
