El Clasico 2021/22- How will FC Barcelona line-up against Real Madrid?

The biggest match of the club footballing calendar is all set to be played on the 24th of October and FC Barcelona seem to have sorted out their initial jitters in the past few weeks. Apart from the rivalry between both sides, the match will also have extra significance as both sides look to assert their dominance in the league and get the three crucial points.
FC Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman, who has often come out all guns blazing in the press conferences will want to walk the talk and come with a victory which would be massive in regards to his immediate future at the club.
We continue our build-up for the El Clasico, by having a look at how Koeman will set up his side to take on Real Madrid.
Predicted FC Barcelona lineup for the El Clasico
Goalkeeper
- Marc Andre Ter Stegen
There is no doubt as to whom, Koeman will choose as Barcelona’s No.1 for the big fixture and Marc Andre Ter Stegen is the obvious choice. The German has been in good form this season and will look to continue his clean sheet streak against the Los Blancos. With a leaky defense ahead of him will be critical for Barcelona’s fortune as they have to deal with the combination of Vinicius and Benzema who have been in scintillating touch in front of goal.
Defenders
- Sergio Roberto/ Mingueza
- Gerard Pique
- Eric Garcia
- Jordi Alba
Ronald Koeman will look to assure things at the back, and the central defenders available to him are Pique and Eric Garcia both of whom have shown a return to their best in the past couple of weeks since the international break. Jordi Alba at left-back is also a no-brainer given his attacking threat and experience of having played in big games such as this one.
The only question in defence is the right-back position, and Koeman has not given anything away as to who will start between Sergio Roberto and Mingueza. The latter has a more of prowess in defensive abilities and might be a safer bet given the fact he will have to be up against the pace of Vinicius on his flank.
Midfielders
- Sergio Busquets
- Gavi
- Frenkie De Jong
The midfield is the most assured part of the lineup as fart as Barcelona is concerned and they have a tried and tested trio of young budding midfielder Gavi, to give company to the experience of Busquets and Frenkie De Jong. Most of their chances of winning the Clasico will hinge on the performance of the midfield.
Attackers
- Ansu Fati
- Memphis Depay
- Sergino Dest
Blaugrana fans will be feeling a lot confident of taking ion Real Madrid even after Lionel Messi’s departure this season given the return of their prodigy kid and current No.10 shirt holder, Ansu Fati. The 18-year old has what it takes to make a difference at the big stage. He will partner Memphis Depay, who will be playing the center-forward role and look to make his in behind runs to create problems for Madrid’s dodgy defence.
Koeman has also sprung up a surprise in the recent weeks in playing Sergino Dest as a right-back and looks to go ahead with it for the big clash, as he has impressed in his two outings thus far playing in the new role.
