FIFA World Cup trophy at Zurich Headquarters

The ancient FIFA World Cup trophy can no longer be won altogether, in contrast to the Jules Rimet Trophy. France, the 2018 World Cup champions who will retain their crown at the 2022 World Cup, are the present possessors of the trophy.

According to the updated guidelines, aside from formal procedures like the Trophy Tour and during the FIFA World Cup major drawings and the final ceremony, it stays in FIFA’s ownership and is safely stored at its Zurich headquarters. Alternatively, each year’s FIFA World Cup champions receive a gold-plated bronze duplicate of the trophy, known as the FIFA World Cup Winners’ Trophy, to retain eternally.
