Lusail Stadium at Qatar for FIFA WORLD CUP 2022
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be conducted in Qatar, the very first Middle Eastern nation to do so. In preparation for the 2022 World Cup, Qatar has invested billions of dollars in developing a number of sport venues with the most cutting-edge architecture and environmental practices, along with significant economic and infrastructure improvements.
As the first World Cup in the northern hemisphere to not be contested in the summer, Qatar is also poised to make a record. Intriguingly, it is the first Arab nation to host the FIFA World Cup as the championship is slated for late November to mid-December.
The final will take place on December 18, 2022, which also happens to be Qatar’s National Day, and will be played over a shorter period of time of about 28 days.

How did Qatar get to be the host Nation for the event?
By launching its bid team in 2009, Qatar made the initial step toward hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Five contenders made proposals for the coveted hosting rights, comprising Qatar, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Following a ballot vote by the FIFA Executive Committee in Zurich, Qatar was named the host nation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on December 2, 2010, according to FIFA.
What are the venues for the FIFA World Cup 2022?
All eight of the following stadiums will host the group games: Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, Education City Stadium, and Al Janoub Stadium.
Why are the stadiums in Qatar where the games will be played growing in popularity?
Qatar has built seven stadiums specifically for the World Cup in addition to its national stadium, Khalifa Stadium. The other six stadiums have already been opened, with the exception of Lusail Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 80,000. The biggest of them all is Lusail Stadium.
Why is the World Cup being held in November?
The 2022 World Cup will take place in the Northern Hemisphere’s winter, which is a notable departure from the tournament’s usual timetable.
FIFA decided to move the championship game from its typical slot on the schedule in the hopes of providing players and spectators with more comfortable settings because of the high average temperatures in Qatar during the months of June and July.
Thus, the World Cup will coincide with the club season, which runs from August to May, disrupting the dates of domestic leagues around the world, notably the English Premier League and others in Europe.
When will the World Cup final take place?
The 2022 World Cup final will be at Lusail Iconic Stadium on Sunday, December 18.
The World Cup final falls on the same day as Al-Yawm al-Watani li-Qaar, or Qatar’s National Day, which commemorates the country’s union in 1878.
