NEROCA FC

NEROCA FC announced the appointment of first league title-winning coach Khogen Singh as the club’s new head coach. Singh won the 2017-18 league title with Minerva Punjab FC.

Born in Manipur ,Khogen Singh started his playing career in football playing for clubs like Salgaocar FC, Air India FC, Mumbai FC and Tollygaunge Agragami. His notable achievement was however as a manager when he managed the I league newcomers, Minerva Punjab to their first league title and that too in only their second season in the top flight winning the coach of the year for his feat. Things didnt go in favor of Minerva Punjab since then as they failed to retain their title and soon Singh was demoted to their youth division which he rejected and left the club.

NEROCA FC looks to improve in the upcoming season.

Imphal based team Neroca FC has now appointed Khogen as their head coach in their upcoming 2020-21 I league season. Neroca FC has gained promotion into I league first division in 2017-2018 season after winning in the second division and has been mantaining their position in the top divison since.Their best finish in I league was in 2017-18 season as well where they finished second in the league table just behind the champions Minerva Punjab.

Their performance had been declining since then as they had a very disappointing previous season where they ranked last in the league standings avoiding relegation, thanks to AIFF who decided to give them another chance due to ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic. Neroca FC would now look to rejuvenate their squad and come back stronger in the upcoming season with the appointment of their new manager who is expected to bring the best out of the club just like his previous stint with Minerva Punjab.
