It is undoubtedly one of the most famous coincidence as two of the world most successful footballers Cristiano Ronaldo Lionel Messi were involved on Tuesday night. Five hundred miles apart both Ronaldo and Messi were in action for their respective clubs Manchester United and PSG and it is fair to say that one had a good day front of goal while other was slightly off colour.

However the game did open up in the second half and Kylian Mbappe who was looking the most likely to score was brought down by Dani Carvajal at the hour mark. All eyes were on Lionel Messi as he stepped up to give PSG a much deserved 1-0 against former bitter rivals Real Madrid, but Thibaut Courtois came up big to save the Argentine’s effort from 12 yards.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo’s first goal in seven games for Manchester United as the Red Devils were able to hold-off 10-men Brighton at Old Trafford for all three points. Lionel Messi have had a tough start to life at PSG, whereas Ronaldo on the other hand have scored on multiple occasions but somehow Manchester United continue to struggle in the Premier League and are knocked out of FA Cup and Carabao Cup. United take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 tie next week, an opponent Ronaldo loves to play against.
