Liverpool has successfully managed move into the fourth round of the FA Cup as they secured a 4-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town with Kaide Gordon, Fabinho and Firmino making a name for themselves in the scoresheet.

Shrewsbury played really well in the match and also earned the opening goal in the match putting the Reds under pressure at Anfield although Liverpool did not stumble with your focus and ended up turning the table in their favour comfortably.

Steve Cotterill, the manager of the League One side was full of acclaim for Liverpool especially for Virgil Van Dijk who was excellent in the match and as a good gesture visited the dressing room of Shrewsbury after the match to praise them and give them his shirt.

Shrewsbury’s manager said in the post-match conference, “It was very, very difficult for us to get the ball off of them without completely opening the game up. If we had opened the game up, it could have been six or seven and that’s not where we wanted to be.”

“I’m very, very proud of our lads and very thankful to how Liverpool Football Club have been towards us today, from Jurgen Klopp, all the way through their team.”

“Virgil van Dijk came in our dressing room afterwards, congratulated everyone, said well done, brought his shirt in, shook hands and I thought that was absolutely top, top drawer.”

“Not only is he a top player, he’s a gentleman. It’s a very good experience for our players today to experience that. You can’t go away from here and not think that this is a special football club.”

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita is currently out on international duty for AFCON cup and Liverpool still does not look wobbly as Jurgen Klopp next looks to secure a victory on their first leg of Semis against Arsenal at Anfield on 14th of January.
