“He was so rude !”- Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek opens up on the dark side of Lionel Messi
Barcelona and Real Madrid are up against each other as the latest chapter in the El Clasico is about to go down in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. The winner of El Clasico will then go onto face either of Atletico Madrid or Athletic Bilbao in the final on Sunday 16th January.
The famous rivalry has not been the same since Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid to Juventus back in 2018 and then Lionel Messi also moving to PSG earlier this season makes it somewhat strange to be watching El Clasico without arguably two of the world’s best players. However the former Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek spoke about his time at Real Madrid and the El Clasico moments in his autobiography.
Dudek also discussed how Lionel Messi would say things to Real Madrid players and try to provoke the players It was shocking to see someone so calm and composed like Messi to say things said the former goalkeeper.
“He was deceptive and provocative, the same as Barcelona and Pep Guardiola, They were so ready to provoke you and they were able to do it to perfection. That hurt Jose Mourinho and the whole team a lot.” Dudek said about the Argentine forward and FC Barcelona
Dudek further added, “I saw Messi say such rude things to Pepe and Ramos that you would not imagine from such a quiet and seemingly good person.”
Over the years El Clasico has seen many fights and tension is always high when the two sides meet irrespective of the competition.
Can FC Barcelona continue to dominate the El Clasico without Lionel Messi ?
FC Barcelona have had the great success in the last decade and two and that largely is because they had Lionel Messi leading the line. However due to financial fair play rules Messi had to sadly leave Barcelona after almost 16 years. Lionel Messi is still top scorer in the El Clasico, however it will be difficult for Barcelona to dominate the famous fixture without the little magician on their side.
With a spot in the final on the line for the Spanish Super Cup who do you think will win the El Clasico ?
