“Historic win for us”- Xavi and Co. ecstatic after their 1-0 win over Mallorca as Luuk De Jong and Ter Stegen shone bright
FC Barcelona has sparked a fire of hope from the very start of this year as they won 1-0 against Mallorca last night, a well deserved win and fine start by Xavi in 2022.
The Spanish side has faced a lot of criticism especially after there downfall from the Champions League this season but some of the players who have faced the shots directs seemed to have redeemed themselves to some extent after their recent victory.

The Dutch forward was there to provide the lead to Barcelona just before the end of the first half with a terrific header from Mingueza’s cross. The German Goalkeeper also proved his critics wrong after a sensational save at the stoppage time to clinch a vital 3 point in their favour.
The Spanish manager Xavi Hernandez takes this as a very well battled and deserved win for them as FC Barcelona’s squad looks completely depleted as 14 players are either out due to Covid, injury or suspensions.
“It was an historic win for us, I’m not exaggerating. Missing so many players, to go back home with a win, it’s three points worth their weight in gold. The young players showed up and Ter Stegen made a stop for the ages. I’m thrilled that we managed to win,” Xavi said in his post match interview.
FC Barcelona has currently moved up to the fifth place, two places ahead right after their win against Mallorca. The Catalan club will look forward to close the gaps with the leaders and move up further in the table in their next matches.
