“I wanted to remember it for the rest of my life” says Jose Mourinho after sprinting 50 meters to celebrate the winner

AS Roma won their third Serie A game in a row in dramatic fashion with El Shaarawy scoring the winning goal in the 90th minute of the game. It was Jose Mourinho’s 1000th game as manager and the Portuguese was thrilled to have won the game in the dying moments.
Roma were up against Sassuolo with Cristante giving his side the lead late in the first half, however Duricic equalised after a great run by Dominico Berardi but it was El Sharaawy who scored the winner in the 90th minute with a curling shot which went in off the post and the celebrations began with the Roma players running towards the side where the Ultras were sitting and manager Jose Mourinho sprinting 50 meters down to the touchline to celebrate the winning goal in what was his 1000th game as manager.
Roma have now won all of their first five games of the season with 2 wins in the UEFA Conference League as well. It was Mourinho’s 639th win of his managerial career.
Mourinho said “During the week, I lied to myself, telling everyone this was not a special game. I was trying to convince myself it was not special. It was a special match,”
“It was a match with a special number for me, which I will remember until the last day of my life. I didn’t feel 58 today. I felt 10, 12 or 14 years old — the age when you start to dream of a career in soccer. It was the run of a child.” Mourinho told while speaking to DAZN.
Can Roma win the Serie A under Jose Mourinho?
Jose Mourinho joined Roma in May earlier this summer and it’s his 10th club in a long 21 year of management. Roma are top of the Serie A table level on points with AC Milan and Napoli who also won their respective games in the league this weekend.
The Portuguese have already won the famous treble with Inter Milan back in 2010 and is not a stranger of taking an average team to great heights and also winning several trophies.
