Amidst the poor and unsatisfactory performances from Manchester United, there are rumours suggesting Cristiano Ronaldo’s move away from the Reds to any of these top European trio Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Roma.

Cristiano Ronaldo has not had the best of time since making his spectacular return to Old Trafford and scoring five goals in his first four matches. Poor results, problems in the dressing room and off-field controversies have not helped the Portuguese forward, who has struggled to hit the heights of previous years. The five-time Balon d’Or winner was expected to carry Manchester United to several titles this season, but the team is currently fighting for a place in the top 4 of the Premier League Table.

According to The Sun, the 37-year-old is weighing up the possibility of leaving the club at the end of the season, which would bring an end to his contract that runs until the summer of 2024. The report suggests Ronaldo has been left far from impressed by United’s decline on and off the pitch, with the club falling behind Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea over the past decade.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s failure to impact games

Cristiano Ronaldo did have a strong start to the season scoring in his first match, but the 37-year old failed to maintain the consistency. Cristiano Ronaldo had to go through six matches without a goal, including five Premier League games and an FA Cup ouster against Middlesbrough in which he missed a penalty, before scoring against Brighton last night.

The forward already has three matches this season in which he has started among the substitutes and come on before the full-time whistle. In all three substitute appearances, he appeared with the game knotted at 1-1, with Manchester United having squandered a lead before Ronaldo’s introduction.

All three times he failed to change the result in their favour.
