The Spanish Super Cup is all set to rumble on as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Athletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao are all set to take on each other in the Semi finals which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

Many fans and players have raised a question now regarding why a Spanish based Cup is being hosted 7000 km away especially in these dire pandemic days.

Athletic Bilbao attacking mid Raul Garcia has spoken up regarding this situation in his recent conference as his side prepare themselves to face Athletico Madrid on the 14th of January.

Raul said, “It doesn’t make sense. I am against it, football has now changed because you don’t think about the fans. Now it is important to generate and we forget the basics, that environment that makes the game different.”

RFEF and Saudi Arabia has closed on a deal which injects millions of Euros into Federations fund

Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Saudi Arabia has reached an agreement on a ten year deal which conditions the gulf state to be the host for such knockout matches.

This deal is reported to raise a fund of around 250-300 million euros for the Federation and some more additional money as recently Television deals were also signed.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will play their match on 12th of January followed by Athletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao on the 14th of January. The Finals of the competition will be held on 16th of January at the King Fahd International Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
