Jamie Carragher gets called ‘Donkey’ by Lionel Messi after the Football pundit made a dubious remark
Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville was in the analysis panel for the match between Norwich City and Watford which ended in a vital 3-0 win for Norwich enabling them to move out of the Relegation zone.
The football pundits were asked to select their team of the year for the current season, where Messi worshipper Carragher did not include the Argentine in his best XI as he believes the seven times Ballon D’or winner has not been able to deliver an impactful performance in the ongoing season.
Jamie Carragher explains why Lionel Messi called him ‘Donkey’ on Instagram
However, Carragher seemed to have added some more spice to his comment as he mentioned that the Argentine superstar called him Donkey on Instagram after the Football pundit said that Ronaldo and Messi was not the best transfers that happened in the summer of 2021.
Carragher said on Sky Sports, “I had a little pop at Ronaldo early in the season. I didn’t think it was a great signing for United. And I said the example of Messi. I didn’t think Messi was a great signing for PSG.”
“It was on Monday Night Football and I got a private message on Instagram…From the man himself. I will not be showing private messages, but he basically called me a donkey.”
“He watches Monday Night Football, so hopefully he’s watching Friday Night Football as well, because Lionel I absolutely love you. The greatest player of all time – and compared to you, I was a donkey, I accept that. But you’re not getting into this team.”
Lionel Messi has not played a match yet with PSG this year after getting severely affected with Covid 19, however, there have been reports which talks about the return of the Argentine who is fully fit to take on Reims in the next fixture of Ligue 1.
Lionel Messi has still yet to prove himself in the Paris based club as he struggles to get in the rhythm but the Argentine surely expected to turn things around for himself.
