Lionel Messi and Neymar get jeered by fans in PSG’s Win Over Bordeaux

Lionel Messi and Neymar at PSG

Lionel Messi and Neymar are among the ones jeered by the PSG fans in PSG’s match against Bordeaux following the embarrassing and shocking exit from the UEFA Champions League in the round of 16 ties.

Lionel Messi has not had anywhere near the impact the Parisian fans were hoping he would have when he joined the French giants moving away from his childhood club FC Barcelona. The Argentine could only manage to score seven times in the 25 games he has played for PSG.

Neymar although having scored in the 3-0 win against Bordeaux was subject to the same whistles and boos every time he had the ball in possession.

PSG has been in pursuit of the European Cup for a long time and has made five major signings last summer in the process. As one would expect, the fans expected results. Instead, it turned out to be the worst season for PSG in Europe who made it to the semifinal and final stages in the last two seasons. PSG were knocked out by Spanish giants Real Madrid who scored three goals in the last 30 mins.

The Parisians hold a 15-point lead on second-placed Nice and are on track to equal Saint-Etienne’s record of 10 French titles, but the domestic title is not what the fans club has been yearning for.

Luis Suarez and Cesc Fabregas respond to PSG fans booing Messi and Neymar

Former FC Barcelona teammates and best friends Luis Suarez and Cesc Fabregas jumped in with posts on social showing their support towards Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Luis Suarez posted a picture of himself with Messi and Neymar on his Instagram stories: “As always, football has no memories.

“Always with you. I love you very much.”

The once dreaded trio of MSN ruled football with FC Barcelona winning the treble which included the UEFA Champions League in the year 2015 under Luis Enrique.

Another former Barca teammate of the stars, Cesc Fabregas, took to Twitter to write a similar message.

“Football has no memory whatsoever… it’s a shame. Always with you brothers.”
