“Show them what you can do,” Marcus Rashford posts heartfelt message for Donny van de Beek after his loan move to Everton

Finally the struggle and the ordeal for Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek has come to a temporary halt. The Dutch midfielder has earned himself a loan move to Everton in the Winter Transfer window and will remain with the Toffees for the remainder of the season.

Van de Beek has found it extremely hard to break into United’s lineup after his big-money £40million move to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2020. He has spent most of his time at United on the substitutes bench with game time very hard to come by.

United’s previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer never showed his faith in the Dutch midfielder and gave him only 4 starts during his tenure at the club. The situation was expected to change with the appointment of Ralf Rangnick but had almost worsened for Donny van de Beek as he did not start a single match under the German.

Everton showed genuine interest in signing Donny van de Beek and it will give him a chance to prove his credentials in the Premier League. He would be even buoyed by the fact that Everton have a new coach in Frank Lampard, who knows all about the difficulties of being a midfielder.

It seems that everyone is rooting for Van de Beek to prove his doubters and haters wrong in the upcoming loan spell. Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford posted an incredible farewell message for the midfielder minutes after the deal was made official by the club.

The 24-year old striker wrote, “My brother. Go show them what you can do,” (followed by a heart emoji) replying to the official Manchester United tweet of his move to Everton.

Donny van de Beek has only had 27 appearances in the Premier League for United during his one and a half year stay with most of them coming from the bench. He scored 2 goals in them and will hope to better the tally at Everton to make a strong return to United the following season.
