Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is currently in the news after some gruesome images from his girlfriend have been released. Greenwood’s partner Harriet Robson has taken to Instagram to show the images.
Harriet Robson has alleged that Mason Greenwood physically abused her in their relationship. Her bruised images have gone viral and people have taken to social media to criticize the young player.
Manchester United issue official statement regarding Mason Greenwood issue
Earlier Manchester United have issued a statement saying that they were aware of the images circulating the internet. Additionally, the club was launching its own investigation probe into the matter.
“We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.
“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Moreover, now the club has issued a new statement saying that they are suspending Mason Greenwood till further notice. Manchester United in their official statement have said that Mason Greenwood won’t be returning to training or playing matches for now.
“Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”
Greater Manchester Police have already started investigating the case. They have said that they are starting with enquiries regarding the matter and are aware of the situation.
“Greater Manchester Police is aware of images and video circulating on social media. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
The promising young footballer has had a bright start to his footballing career at United and was touted for greater things in the future. In his short 4 year career, he has registered 36 goals for the club in 136 appearances.
