Messi to ‘win the Champions League with PSG and retire at Barcelona’
PSG shocked the world when they signed Lionel Messi for free on a two-year deal from FC Barcelona earlier this summer. The football world was in tears when the Argentine announced he was leaving Barcelona after spending sixteen years at the Catalan club.
Messi had to leave Barcelona as a result of the poor financial condition at the club. PSG already having the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar and with Messi coming in they are surely the favorites to win their first ever UEFA Champions League title this season.
Messi made his Ligue1 debut last week coming from the bench in a 2-0 win over Reims.
Former Barcelona and Villarreal midfielder Juan Riquelme believes that PSG could win their first ever Champions League with Messi in their team.
He told ESPN “I hope that Messi goes on to enjoy Paris. I don’t know if it’s strange, but we are all excited to see him enjoy with Mbappe and Neymar.”
“If they don’t win the Champions League now, they won’t win it.”
The Argentinean midfielder also made a bold prediction about Messi’s future, saying that he could still return to Barcelona before hanging up his boots.
“I think Messi will win the Champions League with PSG and retire at Barcelona.” he added.
However many think that the six-time Ballon D’or winner will move to USA to play in the MLS and is also a fan of the lifestyle in Miami.
Messi will be 36 years old by the time his contract at PSG ends.
