Manchester City have undoubtedly been the side in the Premier League for almost over the last five years. Ever since Pep Guardiola joined the Cityzens back in 2016, they have been an entirely different team all together.
There was an instant improvement in the quality of football they played thanks to probably the greatest footballing minds of all time and within just 2 years, he turned Manchester City into the footballing powerhouse that they are today. In a recent interview, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta called Manchester City the greatest team that ever existed in Premier League history – a comment that has divided the English football community into opinions.

Mikel Arteta said, “My feeling is that they are the best team that has existed in the history of the Premier League and they have proven that consistently throughout the years. And that’s the level that we have to get to. And as the table shows, we are really far from it so there’s a margin.”
The Arsenal manager made these comments just ahead of their ever important match against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium. As we all know, Mikel Arteta has been Pep Guardiola’s assistant manager at Manchester City before joining Arsenal as the manager and thus he attributes much of his managerial knowledge to the Spaniard.
He revealed that Pep Guardiola had indeed called him to have a casual chat just the night before.
Arteta said, “We talked yesterday. He called me to ask me how I was because we have that relationship and he would be defending his club and I would be defending my club. But he always says that the players are the protagonists and the most important ones and I agree on that one.”
