Newcastle United and Manchester City considering legal action against the freshly approved cap on expenditure
Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Manchester City are considering taking legal action against the Premier League board. A new decision has been declared which requires clubs to submit requests for approval of sponsorship deals.
It is understandable that the two clubs which have the biggest opposition to this statement are Manchester City and Newcastle United. The two clubs are heavily cash rich and have problems regarding the money inflow from sponsorship deals.
Both these clubs are now looking for alternatives to uplift this ban. They are targetting other ways to remove this sanction. Earlier there was a ban by Premier League on related-party deals which was lifted.
This has enabled the Saudi Arabia takeover of Newcastle United.The new investors are looking to make a big payment which could be blocked due to this new rule.
Among the 20 clubs in the top tier English League, only Newcastle United and Manchester City are finding a problem and hopes to look forward for a solution soon enough.
Newcastle United has a tough schedule ahead of them in the Premier League as they currently suffer to come up with any positive outcome, sitting at the 19th place in the points table. Newcastle United will be facing Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United in their following matches in the League.
