1998 World Cup winner calls out Kylian Mbappe over ‘clumsy’ Instagram stunt defaming PSG

Christophe Dugarry has slammed Kylian Mbappe for his recent comments about his club. The French National team captain was part of an interview for his club. However, he was reportedly unaware of the content of the interview and took to social media to slam the Parisian Club.

“It looked like a basic interview during a club marketing day. I don’t agree with this published video.” said the PSG forward. “PSG is a big club and a big family but it is especially not Kylian Saint-Germain.” These comments were not well received by Dugarry who spoke to RMC Sport, admonishing the star’s behaviour.

The former AC Milan forward ranted, “The club should have warned him, okay. But do you think a message on social networks is worth it?” Dugarry continued, “He could have called his president. Instead of sending a message on networks that will go around the world. It’s clumsy, not elegant.”

Kylian Mbappe was unhappy because he felt that the club had betrayed him by not giving him the full story. Questions have been asked regularly about the World Cup winner’s future, despite his agreeing to a long-term contract in the summer of 2022.

Reports coming out of the Parc des Princes suggest that the French club want to sign Jude Bellingham. The Parisian club are hoping to secure his services this summer, with the Englishman’s contract set to expire in 2025.

According to Gianluca De Marzio, Bellingham is a “strong target” for the French side. The Parisian club will be hoping to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming season but would need to fork out over 100 million pounds for the player.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been a huge admirer of the Englishman. During the World Cup, the PSG president stated, “England are lucky to have him, to be honest. He’s one of the best players in the tournament.” It remains to see if PSG can prize the youngster away from Borussia Dortmund, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid in contention for the teenager.
