“A Barcelona Legend indeed”, Twitter reacts as Gerard Pique plays his final match for FC Barcelona

Today, Barcelona will bade farewell to one of their own as Gerard Pique plays his final match for the club against Almeria. Pique has been a key player for Barcelona for over a decade, winning numerous trophies with the team, and has been a fan favourite throughout his time at the club.

Before the match, Pique’s teammates wore shirts with his name and number on the back, as a sign of respect for all he has done for the club. Pique was given a standing ovation when he stepped on the ground.

In total, Piqué has won 21 trophies with Barcelona: eight La Liga titles, six Copas del Rey, four UEFA Champions League titles, three FIFA Club World Cups, two Supercopas de España, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA World Cup.
