“A huge goal in the relegation battle”- Twitter erupts as 18th-placed Everton beats Chelsea 1-0 at home to keep their hopes alive of remaining in the Premier League next season

Everton clinched a shocking victory to stun Chelsea 1-0 at Goodison Park and won three points in their quest for survival in the top-flight league. Brazil’s Richarlison scored the only goal at the beginning of the second half to make the difference between the two teams.

Everton got the all-important goal in the 46th minute to lift the voice at the Goodison Park and defended the rest of the match calmly to clinch the victory. 

Chelsea had their chances in the match to overcome the only goal from Everton but Pickford denied them several times. Efforts from Azplicueta, Rudiger, and Kovacic were all turned down by the English goalkeeper to deny their efforts of getting the equalizer. Everton moves to within two points of Burnley and Leeds still with a game to play.

Everton fans celebrate outside and inside the stadium as they beat Chelsea in a stunning game of football. Richarlison was their hero after he scored in the 46th minute to give Everton the lead which they could hold on till 90 minutes. They did it pretty well with saves from Pickford to deny Chelsea from scoring the equalizer.

Chelsea visited Everton to play one of the few games remaining in this season but was shcoked as Everton emerged victorious over “shaky” Tuchel’s men.

They added one more awful performance in the closing stages after almost securing the third spot in the table. Tuchel’s side always dominated Lampard’s team with 17 total shots and after creating plenty of chances to get the result. Chelsea is now been chased by Arsenal as they close the gap to three points with equal numbver of games played.

Everton are figthing for a survival in the Premier League next season as they currently holds the 18th spot. Burnley and Leeds are just two points ahead of them but Lampard’s side has played one game less.

Everton has showed some performances to remember in their last few encounters after beating Manchester United. Lampard looks to motivate the the team in their quest out of the relegation spot in their remaining matches.
