Aaron Ramsdale opens up about losing Arsenal’s #1 spot
The Arsenal #1 has recently fallen out of favor with Mikel Arteta. The 25-year-old started the majority of games last season. He was also the first choice between the sticks for Arteta, until recently. However, the Englishman has seen himself relegated to the bench for the major part of this season. The player opened up about his situation on the bench.
Whether it is me or David who plays we need to be able to just focus and play. But at the same time, it's a strange, big headline and it's one that we're working through as a club.Aaron Ramsdale talks about the competition for Arsenal’s goalkeeper position via The Daily Mail
Spaniard David Raya has ‘usurped’ Ramsdale’s spot as Arteta’s go-to choice. The 28-year-old is on loan from Brentford. Moreover, he has managed to keep 3 clean sheets this season.
Solid performances in goal meant that he quickly became Arteta’s favorite. Camera’s have then been aimed at the player, for his reactions on the bench. Ramsdale was seen applauding Raya for a save.
