The Burj Khalifa in Dubai lit up in AC Milan’s red and black colors on Monday night ahead of the Champions League semi-final against rivals Inter Milan. AC Milan is competing in the Champions League semi-final for the first time since winning the tournament in 2007, and face their rivals Inter in the first leg at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Lighting up in red and black and displaying AC Milan’s logo, the world’s tallest building was taking part in the club’s ‘A light that never fades’, which aims towards Milan fans around the world to light up their homes, cities, and digital spaces with a red light that will reach all corners of the globe.
It will be the third time the two Milan clubs have met in the Champions League knockout stages. AC Milan won both encounters, firstly in the 2002/03 semi-finals, advancing on the away goals rule after the tie had ended 1-1 on aggregate and going on to win the trophy. The Rossoneri then dominated Inter 5-0 on aggregate in the 2004/05 quarter-finals.
Not only in UCL but the Milan Giants will also lock horns for the battle to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Inter, fourth in the Serie A table in the last of the Champions League qualification places, lead fifth-placed AC Milan by two points with four games left.

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola believes the Champions League semifinal clash between Inter Milan and AC Milan will be a memorable one. The former Chelsea and Parma forward expressed his delight and excitement ahead of the Derby della Madonnina.
Zola said “It will be a beautiful match, between two teams in good shape. There are many points of interest, and we are all waiting for it.” Zola, who also played for Napoli during his illustrious career added that there are a lot of interesting talking points as both teams are in good form.
AC Milan hosts Inter Milan in the first leg of the Semifinal of the Champions League. AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli said, “We’ve knocked out Tottenham and Napoli; we can knock anybody out. Inter are the favorite for some, but we want to give it a good go. We need to take into account that this tie is played over 180 minutes. We’ve been in great form in the Champions League. Now, we’ll try to take one more step to reach the final; it would be amazing.”
