Leeds United announced the departure of American coach Jesse Marsch on Monday after nearly a year in charge of the Premier League side. The peacocks currently sit 17th in the league, only out of the relegation zone on goal difference and without a win in their last seven games.

Marsch’s last game in charge of Leeds United ended in a 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Despite the defeat, he expressed confidence that results would improve. In February of last year, Leeds United hired Marsch to replace Marcelo Bielsa, who had successfully guided the club to promotion to the Premier League after an absence of 16 years. With Marsch’s departure, Leeds United will now embark on a search for a new head coach to turn around their struggling Premier League campaign.

Carlos Corberan, the West Bromwich Albion manager, is emerging as a potential candidate for the Leeds United managerial position. Following Jesse Marsch’s defeat at Nottingham Forest, Leeds currently sits one place above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Corberan has a strong background in coaching, having worked alongside Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds and leading Huddersfield Town to the Championship playoffs. Despite a brief setback at Olympiacos, he has quickly regained his reputation at West Brom, returning them to playoff contention.

Though Everton considered him for their managerial position last week, they ultimately decided he lacked enough top-flight experience. However, Leeds value Corberan highly and recognizes his strong connection to the club, including having ex-Leeds coach Jorge Alarcon on his backroom team.

Manchester United, Southampton, and Everton are on the schedule for whoever is the new manager for the Whites.

Leeds United fans have expressed mixed reactions to the news of Jesse Marsch’s sacking. While some believe it was necessary to make a change in order to save the club from a potential relegation battle, others feel that Marsch wasn’t given enough time to turn things around after his American shopping spree.

Many fans are now looking ahead to the club’s next appointment, with several names already being linked as potential replacements. Some fans are hopeful that a new manager will bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to the team, while others are wary of yet another change in the dugout affecting the stability and consistency of the club.
