Cristiano Ronaldo might part ways with Manchester United ahead of next season, likely to reunite with Jose Mourinho at AS Roma: Reports

Cristiano Ronaldo is rumored to be looking for a way out of Manchester United and might reunite with his old manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho is presently the manager of Roma, having led them to the Europa League title last season. He was Ronaldo’s coach at Real Madrid for three years, during which time the pair won the Copa del Rey and La Liga.

Ronaldo has fond memories of playing under his fellow Portuguese and hopes to use his connections to find a way out of Manchester United. Despite being nominated in the PFA Team of the Season, Ronaldo had a miserable season at United, as they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

His dissatisfaction with the club’s pile of difficulties has reached a point where he is ready to depart. Ronaldo does not believe he is a part of new manager Erik ten Hag’s plans for the Red Devils, according to La Repubblica.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has already started looking for a new club for his client and is scanning for possibilities. Roma has surfaced as a surprise contender for Ronaldo, with the Serie A club hoping to benefit from the tax breaks that would come with his signing.

Mendes has strong ties to the Stadio Olimpico administration, having already brought in Rui Patricio and Sergio Oliveira.  After leaving Real Madrid for £100 million, Ronaldo spent three years at Juventus in Italy. Before returning to United, he has voted the country’s Footballer of the Year twice after winning two Serie A crowns and the Coppa Italia.

Despite finishing as United’s top scorer last season, his readiness to play under Ten Hag’s style has long been questioned. Ronaldo does not appear to be waiting to find out, as he searches for a new club for the second summer in a row.
