“Age comes to all of us, Cristiano is finding it hard to deal with that,” Wayne Rooney hits out at Cristiano Ronaldo after explosive Piers Morgan interview

Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo

Wayne Rooney, a former forward for Manchester United and a club legend, has commented on Cristiano Ronaldo‘s most recent interview with Piers Morgan. Ronaldo made some astounding statements in his explosive interview, including labeling Wayne Rooney one of the “rats” that criticized him.

The upcoming FIFA World Cup has lost out in the spotlight to the interview. Ronaldo claimed that his current team, Manchester United, had betrayed him and added that he had no regard for Erik ten Hag, the manager. In response to criticism from his former colleagues, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner stated that they do it out of jealousy or for fame. He added ironically that Rooney might be envious of him due to his good looks.

Rooney kept it classy in his response to Ronaldo’s lewd remarks. “He’s a fantastic player. Him and Messi are probably the two best players to play the game. It’s not criticism, what I’ve said is age comes to all of us, Cristiano is finding it hard to deal with that.” He added “He’s done a interview and it’s gone global, Bit strange some of the comments but I’m sure MUFC will deal with it once they see the full interview and take whatever action they need to take.”

Manchester City has refused Cristiano Ronaldo’s claims of joining them in the summer of 2021

Manchester City has refuted Cristiano Ronaldo’s claims that he was “this close” to joining them in the summer of 2021. After three seasons in Turin, Ronaldo planned to leave Juventus, and a transfer to the Etihad Stadium was reportedly a possibility in August 2021.

The Portuguese international stated in a recent TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan that a deal to join City was “Close” but Sir Alex Ferguson’s intervention caused him to resign for Manchester United.

Since they were unable to sign a new central forward, City spent their title-winning season of 2021–2022 employing a variety of wide players and midfielders as false nines, with Gabriel Jesus—their lone real striker—bizarrely being moved to the wing.

In the summer of 2022, Jesus left for Arsenal, and City beat Dortmund to the signing of Erling Haaland. While Ronaldo scored 24 goals across all competitions in his first season back at Old Trafford, Manchester United finished the season with their lowest-ever Premier League point total.
