From obscene gestures to heated comments and passionate rants – Cristiano Ronaldo & Al-Nassr haven’t had the best of times in recent matches. The Saudi Pro League side are currently 2nd in the League table and twelve points behind Al-Hilal, but things don’t end there. Saturday’s game against Al-Ahli saw Ronaldo’s side come out victorious, even though a unfortunate moment made all the headlines.

As Al-Nassr players, including the likes of Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Otavio huddled together after scoring a goal, rival fans ‘attacked’ the visitors. As captured in several fan-recorded clips, several water bottles were thrown from the stands. While Al-Nassr players managed to dodge most of them, Otavio saw one launched directly at him. In an effort to save himself, the Brazilian held his arms over his face as a shield.

While the bottle missed Cristiano Ronaldo by a few inches, Otavio, in the aftermath of the hit, clutched his face and fell to the ground. The group of players protested against the crowd, which seemed to make things worse.

Loud cheers from the home fans echoed around the stadium as Alex Telles furiously threw a bottle to the ground in protest. Fans all over social media have gathered in support of the Portuguese superstar and teammates while criticizing Al-Ahli fans for their conduct.

Following a gritty 1-0 win against Al-Ahli, Ronaldo took to his sea-facing resort to recover and get some much needed rest. Pictures shared by the player featured himself in recovery gear, with both his legs stretched outward inside the gear.

Fans noticed a concerning detail in the same, with the battered and bruised state of his feet coming to attention. The No.7 has made over a thousand appearances at club level and has also made 200 appearances for the National team. He has played over 35 games or more for clubs every single season starting from 2003 after he joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon.

39 years old and well into the final stages of his career, Ronaldo owes a significant chunk of his longevity to his strict diet, fitness plan, and recovery. He recently hit 50 goals in all competitions for Al-Nassr, achieving the feat in less than 15 months. He leads the goal scoring tally this season as well, having scored 23 goals and set up another 9 in 22 games.
