The Saudi side is presently camping in China, gearing up for the second half of the Saudi Pro League. Al-Nassr was looking to gain some momentum through these friendly matches, before competing for the SPL title. Both the friendly were planned to take place at the Shenzen City stadium in China.
The two-game friendly tour is postponed due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent injury, which will keep him out for about two weeks. This has raised concerns about his participation in the upcoming friendly against Lionel Messi‘s Inter Miami. Upset fans in China chanted Ronaldo’s name when they learned about the injury. The club and the player held a press conference to address the situation, with Ronaldo promising fans that he and his teammates would return to play in China.
Despite Ronaldo’s absence, Al-Nassr will continue its planned training sessions in China. The team, including the former United star, plans to return to competitive action against Al Fayha in the AFC Champions League on February 14, followed by Al-Fateh in the SPL.

The 38-year-old former Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a muscle injury while training in China. This puts his participation in the much anticipated friendly match between Al-Nassr and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami at risk. The match is scheduled to be held at the Kingdom Arena stadium in Riyadh on February 1, 2023.
Moreover, the clash comes immediately after Ronaldo took a dig at Messi’s FIFA Best Player award win, claiming that the individual awards have lost their credibility.
