According to the latest reports, Aleksandar Mitrovic has informed his relatives that he has no intention of playing for Fulham in the future. He is actively seeking a transfer to Saudi Arabia, apparently driven by the desire for a more lucrative deal. Being one of the standout strikers in the Premier League last season, with 14 league goals, Fulham rejected a £25.5 million bid from Al-Hilal not long ago, as they are eager to hold on to their key player.
However, the situation has taken a turn, and Mitrovic is now determined to move away from the club to secure a deal in Saudi Arabia. Sky Sports reported that he made it clear to his close group that he would not don the Fulham jersey again, especially after the club set a hefty £52 million price tag on him.
For now, Mitrovic is expected to join Fulham for their pre-season tour in the United States. Nevertheless, he is reportedly unhappy with being priced out of a transfer this summer. This unrest might present a challenge for manager Marco Silva, as he wouldn’t want an unsettled Mitrovic to disrupt team harmony for the upcoming season.
Mitrovic’s agent has reportedly appealed to Tony Khan, requesting a reduction in the player’s value to a range between £35m and £45m. However, this suggested valuation would likely be below the market value for a top striker in the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether Fulham will hold firm and stick to their initial valuation of £52 million or if they might succumb to the pressure exerted by Mitrovic and his agent.
Premier League players moving to the Saudi Pro League
The Saudi Pro League has taken the ongoing transfer window by storm. Many players currently playing in European leagues are making their moves to Asia. While they are targeting players from other countries too, the Premier League remains their favorite destination to find players.
It started in January with the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr after he left Manchester United for free. Then numerous Chelsea players like N’Golo Kante, Eduardo Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly left for the Middle East. After that, they started targeting Manchester City players, with Riyad Mahrez leaving for Al-Ahli. Bernando Silva has also been linked to Al-Hilal.
Liverpool players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are also set to leave the club for Al-Ettifaq and Al-Itihaad. A few Manchester United players like Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro were linked with moves, but nothing materialized. However, discarded left-back Alex Telles joined Al-Nassr. It is yet to be seen whether this trend continues.
