Brazilian full-back, Alex Telles netted a stunning long-range volley in the first half of Al-Nassr‘s Saudi Pro League match against rivals Al-Ettifaq. The Riyadh-based team secured a comfortable 3-1 victory, closing in on league leaders Al-Hilal in the standings.
The crucial encounter between the two sides saw Al-Nassr dominate proceedings as they struck three goals past Steven Gerrard‘s side. Al Ettifaq showcased strong defense in the initial half but couldn’t maintain the same level of performance in the latter part of the game. The ‘Global Ones’ were impressive throughout the game hitting a total of 20 shots, with 11 on target, and maintaining 66% possession. The win helped Al-Nassr to 40 points from 17 games, trailing league leaders Al-Hilal by ten points.
Former Manchester United left-back, Alex Telles broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute of the game, as he smashed home a superb volley from the edge of the penalty area following a partially cleared cross. His impressive goal stunned Al-Nassr fans and left both players and club management awestruck. At the hour mark, Brozovic creatively struck a half-volley from a header by Cristiano Ronaldo, marking his first goal in the Saudi Pro League. Later on, Ronaldo secured the win for the home team by converting a late penalty in the 73rd minute, marking his 51st goal of 2023 in the process.
Al-Ettifaq scored a late consolation in the 85th minute of the match through Saudi attacker, Mohammed Al-Kuwaykibi, but it was of no avail, as the home side had already secured the match. Telles’ 43rd-minute goal was his second of the season, and he also contributed with three assists.

The 31-year-old forward has swifty adoration in Riyadh, boasting ten goals and six assists in 28 appearances for the Knights of Najd.
Moreover, the Senegalese player was also responsible for the penalty that was converted by Cristiano Ronaldo, allowing Al-Nassr to confirm their 3-1 win over their rivals. The emotional tifo display and subsequent celebration deeply moved Mane.
