Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr locked horns with Abha in the Saudi Pro League. The clash on Saturday featured two goals from either side, with the final score being 2-2. Ronaldo failed to register either a goal or assist. However, the 5-time Champions League winner had a moment of brilliance in the first half. The 38-year-old showed just why he belongs at the top with a moment of pure skill.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s magical skill came in the second minute of the game. He received the ball facing away from goal. Being shadowed by an Abha defender, Ronaldo made an unexpected move on the player. He deftly passed the ball through to a rushing Marcelo Brozovic on the wing. His perfectly weighted backheel pass cleared Brozovic’s marker as well.
Marcelo Brozovic then passed to Otavio in the middle, who passed it last to the Abha keeper. The clip has then gone viral, with fans praising the veteran for his skill. Some of the fans commented, “He’s still got it.” Cristiano Ronaldo has had a brilliant start to the season. Al-Nassr #7 already has 10 goals and 5 assists to his name. The club is currently third in the league.
Al-Nassr drop points against Abha in 2-2 draw
In a high-octane clash, Cristiano and Al-Nassr were held to a 2-2 draw. Even though Ronaldo wasn’t involved in any goals, he played a huge part in the buildup for the first goal. Otavio put the home side ahead after just 2 minutes through a Marcelo Brozovic pass. Anderson Talisca nearly doubled the lead with a long-range shot. However, he hit the target after getting on the end of a sublime Sadio Mané cross.
Al-Nassr saw their lead evaporate after just 35 minutes. Saad Bguir made no mistake as he blasted his penalty past Al-Aqidi. After getting one back, the away side mounted pressure on Al-Nassr. Al-Aqidi and the Al-Nassr defense held on for over half an hour. Abha also kept out multiple attempts from Ronaldo before the away side dealt a final sucker punch.
Toko Ekambi‘s blistering shot flew past Al-Aqidi into the top corner. His stoppage-time strike meant that either side shared the spoils on Friday. The club is third with 19 points in nine games. They will face Damac on the 21st after the international break.
