Has Paul Pogba taken a wage cut at Juventus? All you need to know about his new 3-year-contract
Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba flew to Italy on Friday in order to sign his contract and make complete his return to Juventus from Manchester United, for a second time.
However, Paul Pogba had to take a massive wage cut to finalise his move to Turin. The 29-year-old will be signing a 3-year deal with an option for one extra year but will be making far less than what he did back at Manchester United.
Paul Pogba to make almost half of what he earned at Manchester United with Juventus
The details of Paul Pogba’s new contract were revealed and they were surprisingly lower than what Manchester United had offered to the midfielder. As per Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, as reported by Football Italia, Paul Pogba is set to earn €8 million as a base salary.
The player could also earn an extra €2 million in performance-based add-ons and bonuses. However, even after including the bonuses, the salary comes up to roughly £160,000/week. Far less than that £290,000 Manchester United were paying and ready to offer in a new deal to the player.
While Paul Pogba won’t be on an enormous package at Turin, he will still enjoy the full support of the fans. Something he didn’t quite get towards the tail end of his stint at Manchester United.
Paul Pogba had a roller coaster stint at Old Trafford. Safe to say, he never unlocked his full potential at the club where he scored 39 goals and provided 51 assists in 226 games. However, he is not at Juventus and is ready to begin a new chapter with the Old Lady.
