All you need to know about Kalidou Koulibaly’s expected contract with Chelsea

Chelsea’s pursuit of Kalidou Koulibaly is “on the right track,” as a £34 million deal is imminent. The Senegalese has agreed personal terms with the London club reportedly. He will be earning a sum of 10 million per season and will have a contract until June of 2027.

Since the transfer market started on June 10, Chelsea’s quest for fresh defense reinforcements has been a little bit of a slow burner. In order to fill the gap left by the exits of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger, Chelsea’s head coach wants to hire at least two center-backs. Nathan Aké’s personal conditions have been agreed upon, and the expenditure will continue even if the Manchester City center-back finalizes a return to Stamford Bridge. Aké will cost at least £40 million.

Chelsea has a number of defensive targets and might sign Aké this week. They were interested in Jules Koundé of Sevilla, and Koulibaly is starting to look like a good alternative for Tuchel now that Bayern Munich is in the lead for Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus. According to sources, a deal for £34 million to acquire the Senegal international is about to be finalized.

Chelsea closing in on signing Kalidou Koulibaly:

Koulibaly for Napoli

Since joining Napoli in 2014, Koulibaly has excelled and is recognized as one of the top defenders in Serie A. The 31-year-old is still in fantastic form and is thought by Tuchel to be a player who could immediately join his defense. While Chelsea may be able to pay Koulibaly more money, Napoli has extended his contract, which ends at the end of next year.

César Azpilicueta should be able to join Barcelona if Chelsea sign two defenders. Without a plan in place, Tuchel just doesn’t want to replace the club captain. After Chelsea initiated a one-year renewal in Azpilicueta’s contract, Barça, who also wants Marcos Alonso, will have to pay a nominal sum for the Spaniard.
