“If I pass away, Nobody is at blame” – All you need to know about Sadio Mane’s death contract with Senegal

Sadio Mane, a new signing for Bayern Munich, has admitted that he would have signed a “death pact” and even put his life in danger to play for Senegal.

Mane intended to participate in Senegal’s upcoming quarterfinal after sustaining a major head injury during their African Nations League match against Cape Verde.

Due to concussion protocol, Liverpool asked that the player be allowed five days of rest to rehabilitate, and the Senegalese medical team also recommended that he miss the game.

Mane, though, was adamant about playing and even volunteered to sign a document stipulating that any mishap—up to and including his eventual demise—would be his own fault.

Mane explained to Pro-Direct Soccer France what he needed to do to into the game. Mane did not veer from his position despite objections from all parties.

“When I was injured against Cape Verde and had a concussion, I never spoke about it that day,” Mane stated.”

Liverpool put pressure on the federation and wrote a letter to FIFA saying I needed at least five days of rest, which meant I would miss the quarter-finals.”

Mane approached the federation president after the coach and doctors rejected him. He would not reconsider his choice to compete in the quarterfinals, but he was aware of the anxiety and worry that pervaded the situation.

This drove him to agree to sign a contract in which, should the worst happen, he would relieve everyone of all responsibility.

“Even though I knew I shouldn’t play, I insisted on a contract. I’ll be accountable for it and sign it “Mane declared.

“If I pass away, they may blame me. Nobody is at blame. They told me, “Sadio, you can’t play,” but I said, “No, no, it’s not an option.”

Nobody knew what to do after observing the striker’s position. Finally, the medical personnel presented the last option. Mane underwent testing the day before the game, and his participation on the field for the contest depended on the results. He eventually played for 90 minutes.

“Even though I didn’t sign the contract, I was willing to. Let’s perform a scan the morning of the game, the doctor advised ” Mane concluded.
