Despite the numerous times that Cristiano Ronaldo upset the Atletico Madrid fans when he played for Real Madrid and even Juventus, the Spanish club’s supporters are already showing their excitement as rumours suggest that the Portuguese could play for them next summer.

“He’ll be our son of a *****” – Atletico fans ready to welcome Cristiano Ronaldo back to the Spanish capital
All the hat-tricks that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak has ever conceded have been scored by Cristiano Ronaldo. The player was heavily involved in knocking out Atletico Madrid multiple times in the Champions League, not to mention his exploits that helped Real Madrid beat the Los Rojibancos twice in the Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016.
However, despite this past, Cristiano Ronaldo could join the Red and White if the club can find a solution for Alvaro Morata. The Spanish striker spent the last season on loan to Juventus.
While Juventus appreciated the striker, they moved on and signed Dusan Vlahovic from Florentino last January. Barcelona were also possible suitors of the player but they’ve opted for Robert Lewandowski.
Hence, Alvaro Morata could end up staying at Atletico Madrid only this summer, which means that the club don’t have any real need for Cristiano Ronaldo. However, should they manage to sell the 29-year-old, then a move is possible.
Atletico also has the option to sign Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona for a cut-price of €40 million. But that fee is deemed too high by the Atleti board. As per CBS sports Journalist, Ben Jacobs, the signing of Cristiano remains ‘Unrealistic and Problematic’ for the Spanish outfit. Hence, they could look over the player and contour with Morata.
