No good team would consider finishing fourth as an achievement. Tottenham Hotspur and manager Ange Postecoglou are no different as the Greek manager boldly announced his idea of ‘success’ with the club. Tottenham are currently fifth in the League and two points from a European spot. However, the top three have well and truly pulled away from the rest, establishing an eight-point gap.

After a brilliant start to their season, Tottenham lost a slew of games before finding solace by hovering in the fourth and fifth positions. Their stop-start season was epitomized by an unexpected 3-0 loss to Fulham on Saturday. Spurs boss Postecoglou however, was in no mood for self-pity and sent a bold message in a post-match press conference.

This club has achieved things. I don't consider fourth as a prize! I don't wanna finish fourth if we haven't grown and gotten better as a team. I think success is in more tangible things. If we finish fifth, I will be disappointed.

Spurs take on Luton Town, West Ham, Nottm Forest, Newcastle and Manchester City in their next five league games.

Manchester United, Brighton and Tottenham – Fulham have built up quite the reputation this season for providing surprising wins, both home and away. The Whites pulled off a spectacular result on Saturday, as Marco Silva‘s men mustered a 3-0 win. Ange Postecoglou’s side were without reply as the home side established advantage early on in the game.

Rightfully so, the hosts took the lead right before the half-time mark, when Rodrigo Muniz got on the end of a cross from Antonee Robinson. Their momentum carried on to the second half as Sasa Lukic doubled Fulham’s lead. The game was killed off twenty minutes later, when, in a scrappy sequence, the ball was tumbled over the line by Muniz.

Fulham are currently 12th in the league and have 38 points from 29 games. They have a sequence of tough games against Newcastle and Liverpool in the near future. Following the game, Fulham boss Silva did not hold back from praising his players. He even went so far as to claim that the club’s first-half performance was the ‘pinnacle’ of their season so far!
