Angel Di Maria

PSG forward Angel Di Maria is a free agent this summer and has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus. The Old Lady finished 4th in Serie A for the last two seasons and now is looking to bounce back and challenge for the Scudetto.

Alongside Paul Pogba, Di Maria could be Juventus’ second signing of the season with Bianconeri leading the race for the argentine. Barcelona was also interested in Di Maria but seems the Blaugrana want to bring some young blood to Camp Nou.

Gianluigi Buffon says Angel Di Maria could bring the technique to Serie A that it lacks

Speaking about the possibility that Angel Di Maria could sign for Juventus, their former player and captain had nothing but words of praise for the player. He spoke to La Gazetta dello Sport saying, “Di Maria in Serie A is like Maradona.”

“Footballers must be valued considering where they play. Serie A, today, is technically poorer and Angel has so much technique. He is decisive in front of goal, he dribbles past his opponents. He is good at making assists and runs up and down on the pitch. He can play in different roles.”

Angel Di Maria has been offered a 1-year contract by Juventus with the option to extend for 1 more year. Massimilano Allegri is desperate to have the winger in his ranks after losing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer this summer. The player is reportedly considering all his options as of now.

Angel Di Maria had seen his career take a downturn after his move to Manchester United didn’t bear fruit back in 2015. However, the player has since re-established himself as one of Europe’s best wide wingers with PSG.

In 295 appearances for the club, Angel Di Maria has managed 93 goals and 119 assists. A truly remarkable stint at Paris and the player is now ready for a final new challenge at 34 years old.
