Angel di Maria skips Barcelona for Juventus; reaches verbal agreement for a one-year-deal

Angel Di Maria, who has been released by PSG, is close to joining Juventus on a free transfer in the summer transfer window. According to the latest reports from GOAL.com, Angel Di Maria’s entourage has contacted Juventus representatives in recent hours and sent positive signals regarding a potential deal for the Argentine this summer.
According to the report, Di Maria has given the go-ahead to complete the desired transfer after what appeared to be a never-ending stalemate between the two parties.
The Old Lady were thought to be the frontrunners in the race for the 34-year-old, who left Paris Saint-Germain. However, La Liga giants Barcelona quickly entered the race, and Di Maria was said to be interested in a move to Camp Nou if they made an offer.
The Catalan giants appear to have made no significant move, in contrast to Juve, who have been interested in the Argentine winger from the start. As of now, Barcelona is solely focused on signing Robert Lewandowski, who is desperate to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
Contract talks have been going for weeks between Juventus and Angel Di Maria’s representatives
Previously demanding a salary package of €7 million per season, Juventus has agreed to match the 34-year-old’s financial demands. However, the Italian club was more interested in signing him to a two-year contract in order to take advantage of the Growth Decree’s tax breaks.
According to recent reports, Juventus offered Di Maria his desired one-year contract with an option for another year. Following the departure of talisman Paulo Dybala, Max Allegri is scouring the market for attacking reinforcements, having officially sealed the transfer of Paul Pogba.
Furthermore, Alvaro Morata has returned to his parent club Atletico Madrid after Juventus decided not to extend his contract, and Moise Kean has been linked with a move to PSG.
Allegri has demanded Di Maria transfer because he believes the Argentine’s experience and skill set will revitalize Juve’s attack. Aside from Di Maria, the Bianconeri have b.gun talks with AS Roma about bringing Nicolo Zaniolo to Turin for the summer.
