Antoine Griezmann might just be the biggest NFL fanboy of all time. The Atletico Madrid man has time and again made appearances at NFL games, and proclaimed his support for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. It was no surprise that Mahomes was on the winning side for the second consecutive time as his side lifted its third Super Bowl title in the list give years.
Following the win, Griezmann took to Instagram to echo praise for his friend Patrick Mahomes. The Frenchman posted a picture of Mahomes on the turf after the win, with his caption giving a strong message to his followers. The World Cup winner made it clear that Mahomes was indeed the GOAT after an emphatic win against the San Francisco 49ers in overtime.

With his 333 passing yards and two passing touchdowns steering his team past the 49ers, Mahomes took center stage at the Super Bowl. He was named as the MVP for the third time in his career and the fact that he also made the winning touchdown pass with seconds to go only validates Griezmann’s ‘?’ claims.
Griezmann was ‘assured’ of a Super Bowl victory by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. This came on the back of the Frenchman’s gesture to send a signed jersey to the Chiefs star. He said,
It's like Christmas man. We'll try and bring home the win for you.
Griezmann and Mahomes went viral earlier for a link-up in Germany. The duo posed for pictures and exchanged signed jerseys.
Griezmann draws blanks as Sevilla tackle Atletico Madrid
Antoine Griezmann could only watch on as 15th-place Sevilla picked up a win against his side on Sunday. The Frenchman and his partners in attack had no response to an early goal scored by Isaac Romero. The Sevilla forward headed home from a corner flicked on by his teammate Lucas Ocampos. Alvaro Morata had spurned a golden opportunity to pull level just before half-time but failed to put the ball past Orjan Nyland.

He was soon forced off the pitch after an ‘ugly’ coming together with Boubakary Soumare. His replacement, Memphis Depay also failed to impress, after missing two crucial chances to pull his team level. Atletico keeper Jan Oblak put in a monumental shift in goal, keeping out numerous Sevilla attacks and saving his side from potential embarrassment.
Griezmann’s stats weren’t much better either, as the forward managed just two shots on target, with one being the crucial chance to pull level. Atletico had posted a picture on Instagram of Koke and Griezmann facing off in a poster of the Super Bowl final. As Griezmann’s favorite side lifted their second consecutive title, his team couldn’t replicate their success. They spurned a chance to rise to third, and now risk dropping to fifth if Athletic Club win their game in hand against Almeria.
