Antonio Rudiger has been one of Real Madrid’s most vital players in the past two seasons. Joining them in 2022, he has been a rock in the back four and one of the best center-backs in the league. Currently out with injury, he met up with Goal and made his perfect Real Madrid player.
The German center-back had to pick six players depending on their left foot, right foot, IQ, strength, speed, and skills. When it came to left foot, he picked former Germany teammate Mesut Ozil, who was in the Spanish capital from 2010 to 2013. When it came to the right foot, he picked Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

For speed, he picked Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr and for strength, he chose Ferland Mendy. The interviewer was surprised with his pick, but Rudiger defended his choice by calling him “as strong as an ox”. For skills and football IQ, he picked his Real Madrid captains, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, to finish off his perfect Real Madrid player.
Rudiger joined Real Madrid in 2022 after his contract with Chelsea expired. So far, the German has played 83 matches for Los Blancos, always being deployed as a center-back. He won the Supercopa de Espana with the club in early 2024, beating arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the finals.
Real Madrid is on the front foot as they beat RB Leipzig 1-0 in UCL R-16
Real Madrid played the first leg of the Round of 16 in the Champions League on the night of 23 February. Traveling to Leipzig, they needed the win to get one foot in the quarter-finals but dealt with injuries.
Jude Bellingham, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba were all out with injuries, They were forced to play Aurélien Tchouaméni at center-back against RB Leipzig and Girona as well. Despite the setback, Madrid beat Leipzig 1-0. A goal by Brahim Diaz in the 48th minute ensured Los Blancos the win.
Now Madrid prepare for their league fixture with Rayo Vallecano on the weekend and then Sevilla on the next weekend. They expect Militao and Bellingham to be back by the start of March and hopefully available for their return fixture against RB Leipzig. If they manage to win the Champions League this season, it will be their 15th title.
