Rodrygo gave his side the lead early on when he got on the end of a cross from Vinicius Jr. The #11 slid onto the cross, before the ball hit the post and went in. It was smooth sailing for Real after the goal, as they created multiple chances. Fede Valverde drew his shot wide, while Vinicius’ goal was flagged offside. However, Real put distance between the home side when Jude Bellingham curled his shot to the far right of the post.

Alvaro Djalo pulled a goal back for the home side, after relentless attempts starting from the first half. His 63rd-minute strike mounted pressure on the visitors. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s side hung on to their one-goal lead. The game ended with controversy when Antonio Rudiger was forced off a Braga staff, as the two got into an altercation.
