Turkish midfielder Arda Guler looks all set to join Real Madrid, after a dramatic U-turn over FC Barcelona in the summer transfer window. The player who has been dubbed ‘The Turkish Lionel Messi’ is said to have claimed numerous times that Los Blancos is his dream club.

The player’s father who was delighted that his son would move to the club of his dreams, posted a clip from a Turkish TV show trolling Barcelona in his Instagram story. In the clip, a wife tells her husband to take her to Barcelona for vacation. But the father replies saying, “I will only go to Real Madrid.”

The player was close to joining FC Barcelona last week but as soon as Madrid came calling, the Blaugrana were thrown out of the race. The midfielder who is just 18 years old is said to be sold to Madrid for £17.5m. However, his current employer Fenerbahce is not happy with his decision to choose the 14-time Champions League winners over the La Liga Champions for the transfer.

This is because the club expected to keep the player on loan for another season had he moved to Barcelona as they don’t have the required finances this season to register Guler. However, Madrid wants him immediately and will look to integrate him into the team this season itself.

According to El Chiringuito TV presenter Josep Pedrerol, Real Madrid will bide their time until Mbappe communicates to Paris Saint-Germain that he has no intention of extending his contract. There has been a disagreement between the two parties since the French player sent a letter to his club confirming his desire to depart in 2024.

Los Blancos have had a longstanding interest in the 24-year-old and were unable to secure his signature last year. At that time, Mbappe had only a few months remaining on his previous contract with Parisians. However, he ultimately decided to extend his stay with the French club by signing a new two-year contract, with the possibility of an additional third year.

Mbappe has informed the reigning Ligue 1 champions that he will not be exercising the one-year option in his contract. This decision has caused frustration and anger within PSG, with their president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, making it clear that the club’s position is that the forward must either renew his contract or be sold.
