Speaking to reporters ahead of Arsenal‘s match against Nottingham Forest, the Spaniard issued a strong response to the Spanish media outlets, claiming that he is in the ‘right place’ in North London. Moreover, the 41-year-old manager stated that it was ‘fake news’ and expressed regret over it. He emphasized having a strong relationship with the board, and would only discuss contract matters when the time is right.
Who me? No. That's totally fake news what you read yesterday. I don’t know where it's coming from but it's totally untrue. I'm really upset about it. I couldn't believe it. He has no source. He's got nothing. I'm in the right place, I'm with the right people. I feel really good about it.
The Arsenal manager added that he exercised caution when publicly discussing personal matters and affirmed his contentment with the current club. Mikel Arteta’s existing contract at Arsenal extends until 2025, with talks about a contract extension still pending.
