After Arsenal’s surprising win against reigning champs Manchester City at the Emirates, a viral video has emerged. In the video, Arsenal fans confidently declare, “We will win the League!”

Following the game at the Emirates, fans were interviewed outside the stadium. When asked if this could be their year, some responded with unwavering optimism, saying, “We’re winning the League, 100%!” Others enthusiastically mentioned, “The Invincibles are coming back to the Emirates!” This excitement stems from Arsenal’s unbeaten record in the current league season. In the first 8 games of the season so far, the Gunners are unbeaten with 6 wins and 2 draws. They have accumulated 20 points out of a possible 24 already, and currently sit in second position.

Comparing this victory to last year’s 3-1 defeat by City at the Emirates, one fan gleefully noted, “They beat us here last year, but tonight, we gave them a good thrashing!” Once again, the sentiment echoed: “We Will Win the League.”

Last season, Arsenal came close to ending nearly 20 years without a Premier League title but faltered at the business end of the season. Eventually, they ended up losing the title race to champions, Manchester City. However, things are different now.

Brazilian forward, Gabriel Martinelli’s 86th-minute winner against Man City sent the Emirates into a frenzy as Mikel Arteta‘s men finally got one over Pep Guardiola. When the final whistle blew, the whole stadium was buzzing with belief. The Gooners sense it in the air. They are screaming this could be their year!

Arsenal look to learn from last season

The 2022/23 Premier League season started brightly for the Gunners who began their campaign with 5 wins on the bounce. Their brilliant start, along with their free-flowing style of football allowed them to dominate teams. This kept them at the top of the table with a gap of 5 points over second place, Manchester City by Christmas.

However, things started to turn for Arsenal after losing William Saliba to injury. Arsenal had a string of draws which allowed Pep Guardiola’s men to make up the points deficit and eventually overtook Mikel Arteta’s men after smashing them 4-1 at the Etihad. The title was confirmed to be Manchester City’s after an Arsenal loss to Nottingham Forest sealed their fates.

With many Pundits and ‘football experts’ claiming that the Arsenal team was too young and immature to come up against Man City, Mikel Arteta will look to right the wrongs of last season, and with their recent victory over title contenders, things are currently looking up for the side from North London.
