“In Arteta’s first attempt” – Arsenal fans on cloud 9 as the club qualifies for UCL Round of 16 with EMPHATIC win over Lens

In 2017, Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 22 years. For the next 5 seasons, they failed to finish in the top 4, which saw them missing out on Champions League football yet again. Finally, under Mikel Arteta they finally finished 2nd in the 2022/23 season, getting them back to playing Tuesday and Wednesday night football. And they are having the times of their lives.
On 29th November, Arsenal scored 6 goals against RC Lens, with 5 coming in the first half itself. Different goalscorers scored all goals, with Kai Havertz opening the scoring in the 13th minute.
The front three of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli scored within the next 14 minutes. Captain Martin Odegaard finished the half with a goal of his own. Only one goal was scored in the 2nd half, with Jorginho converting a penalty in the 86th minute.
As things stand, Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 in their first attempt since 2016. They have 12 points out of a possible 15, with one loss coming in their away fixture at Lens.

Arsenal fans couldn’t hold back their happiness as the Gunners qualified for the Round of 16. Many were impressed with Mikel Arteta, who made them into such a formidable side and reached the Round of 16 in his first try. Others were happy they were UCL group leaders and Premier League leaders

Arsenal are currently in the top of the Premier League by one point after they beat Brentford. After this UCL fixture, they will play Wolverhampton Wanderers at home. Their next UCL match will be on 12th December, when they travel to the Netherlands to face PSV.
